Randy was born on September 6th, 1957, in Lake Charles, LA, to Wanda and J.D. Morgan. Randy had a fun-loving spirit, a servant’s heart, and a devoted love for his family & friends.
In his early years, Randy enjoyed playing softball and basketball. His love of sports continued throughout his life, whether he was playing in a men’s softball league, coaching his children’s little league teams, or cheering on his beloved McNeese Cowboys. He loved his Astros, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints (unless they were playing each other, then Dallas had better win). He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the great outdoors.
After graduating from LaGrange High School, Randy attended McNeese State University where he was a proud member and president of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He earned a degree in business and later became a partner of LBM Office products. Following his career in office supplies, he went on to further serve in his childhood church, University United Methodist, as the business manager. He served on staff at UUMC until he reached retirement. Even after retirement, he continued to serve part time for University United Methodist Day School.
On a blind date, he met the love of his life, Tammi. They married in March of 1995. Together they enjoyed MSU football games, RV camping with their friends, and just spending time with each other. Together they raised three children, whom he was so proud of.
Following his retirement, his favorite hobbies included watching old Western reruns, searching for Bigfoot on TV, and snuggling with his favorite fur daughter, Margeaux. He spent many mornings with his bible study group – learning about Jesus, drinking coffee, and gossiping. He loved to spend time with his family and village of friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; Wanda and J.D Morgan. He left behind his devoted and loving family; Sister Becky Hebert (Danny); Wife Tammi; Children, Dustin Brock (Marissa), Tristan Bath (Logan), and Randi Paige Morgan; and two adorable grandchildren, Reagan & Mila Brock. He will be missed by his nieces and great nieces and great nephew along with a huge extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who’ve become family.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. and again on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 9 A.M. until time of services at J.E. Hixson and Sons Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A Funeral Service will follow begin at 10 A.M. at J.E. Hixson and Sons Funeral Home in Lake Charles with graveside services following in Highland Memorial Gardens in Lake Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the UUMC Capital Campaign or the Lake Charles Children’s Museum.
