He very proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. John was a simple man and was always willing to help out a friend in need. He was a faithful and giving man. John was a true southern gentleman who enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He loved to go to Deer Lease in Singer to cook and hunt with his friends. John treasured his time spent with his family and adored his grandchildren. He was a gift to his family and is deeply missed by all who loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving girlfriend, Christine Dowden; daughter, Crystal Deville and husband Ricky Deville, Jr.; son, John Bergeron, Jr and partner Falon Hollie; sister, Cathy Miller and husband Peanut; brothers, Billy Bergeron and wife Vickie, and James Bergeron, Jr and wife Sheri; step-mom, Betty Bergeron; as well as his grandchildren, Carley Deville, Kahlen Deville, Zaleigh Deville, Waylon Bergeron, Jexstyn Bergeron, and Landon Bergeron.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Bergeron; sister, Cindy Bowman; and his parents, Mildred and James Bergeron, Sr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service, led by Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
