Jackie Doga, age 83, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 surrounded by her family in the hospital. She was born August 28, 1939 to F.F. Fontenot and Isabel Dugas Fontenot in Lake Charles.
Jackie was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles where she was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and was very strong in her faith. She was a retired banker from Calcasieu Marine National Bank after many years. Jackie was an avid baker, enjoyed camping, coaching youth softball, watching LSU and the Saints. Spending time with her family was one of her greatest joys as well as playing with her dog Belle. She was known to many for her kind soul as she never met a stranger. Jackie, a widow for a short 90 days, died of a broken heart after losing her spouse who was a part of her life for 70 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Christy Doga (Troy), Darald "Bubba" Doga (Dawna), Lisa Waddell (Keith) and Brian Doga (Melissa); grandchildren, Kimber Bennett, Kamin Farrell (Blake), Denee' Klumpp (Josh), Michael McCauley (Lindsey), Deveni Polito (Joseph), Tylor Quebedeaux, Kenny Waddell (Jada), Darian Doga, Makena Doga, Taylor Doga and D.J. Doga; great grandchildren, Braden, Peyton, Karsyn, Bree, Corbin, Logan, Gia, Camille and two on the way, Stella Marie and one other; brothers-in-law, Bradley Doga (Candy) and Dickie Fournerat; sister-in-law, Jocelyn Dailey (Daven). She is also survived by her fur baby, Belle.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Darald James Doga, Sr.; brother, Terry Eugene Fontenot and sister, Patricia "Cookie" Fournerat.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the funeral home at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. led by Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux. Burial will be immediately following at Prien Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be D.J. Doga, Michael McCauley, Josh Oustalet, Blake Farrell, Joseph Polito and Kenny Waddell.
Honorary friends will be Yvonne Primeaux, Linda Cassell, Loretta Young and Candy Doga.
