He was born in Lake Charles and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of University United Methodist Church and also a member of Masonic Lodge Calcasieu 400, Shriners Habibi Temple and the National Assoc. of Federal Employees. He enjoyed gardening and traveling and will be remembered by all who knew him for his love of life, fun and laughter.
He is survived by his sons, Eric Twachtman and wife JoAnn of Sulphur; Jack Ronald Twachtman and wife Fatima of Houston; daughter, Carol Sofianopoulos and husband Angelos of Houston; grandchildren, Eric Twachtman, Jr. and wife Molly, Jackie Gentry and husband Bill, Ryan Twachtman, Nick Twachtman and wife Erynn, Kimberly Carlin, Mariana Bispo, Layla Bispo,Iole Bispo and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Juliette Murrell Twachtman, his parents, Arthur Louis and Hazel Twachtman, brother, Arthur Louis Twachtman, Jr.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to Juanita Caligon and Yvonne Key for their compassion and loving care.
His funeral will be Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Charlie Langford will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Service will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
