Hazel Michelle ‘Mickey’ Haines, 51, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mickey was born February 5, 1971 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and had lived in the area most of her life. She will be remembered for her heart of gold, as she loved cooking for and taking care of people, helping to not only raise her own children, but also many nieces, nephews and neighbors. She was also very poetic, and loved writing, penning many original, beautiful poems.
Mickey graduated from LaGrange High School, and worked as a server in several area restaurants, including Pat’s of Henderson, until she retired in 2000, when she began working in home health care, where she got to explore her passion for nurturing and helping others even more.
She was preceded in death by several relatives, including 2 grandfathers, Lawson Maddox and Henry Gormly; her grandmother, Hazel Dill; her mother-in-law, Mary Lou Dugas; her step-daughter, Brittany Nichole Anderson; and her niece, Stephanie Ann Haines.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Wade Haines of the home; 2 sons, Anthony Lyons of Canyon City, Colorado, and Kyle Uehlinger of Pasadena, Texas; her daughter, Hailey Haines of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her father, Wilburn Lawson Maddox of Biloxi, Mississippi; her mother, Vernell Lyons of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and 6 grandchildren.
