Gene Warren Savant Sr., 87, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away November 5, 2020. Gene was born January 11, 1933 to his late parents Morris and Ida Savant. Gene was a native of Fenton, LA and a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. Gene was a proud Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War as a Gunner's Mate. He was a member of the American Legion W. B. Williamson Post 1, and also a member of the VFW Post 10665, where he formerly served as Post Commander. Gene Retired as an Oil Field supervisor overseas in the oil industry after over 20 years of service. Gene was co-owner of Affordable Lube on Nelson Road, for the past 28 years. Gene enjoyed his travels of the world, the casinos, his family, grandchildren, and providing customer service. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
He is Survived by his two sons; Gene W. Savant Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, Norman Savant and wife Nicole of Lake Charles, LA. One daughter, Tina Savant Woodard and husband Berry of Sulphur, LA, along with five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Savant, and parents Morris and Ida Savant, one brother, and one sister.
The family will welcome the public for visitation beginning at 11am November 9, 2020 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA, till time of service at 12:30pm and will be officiated by Monsignor Jace F. Eskind. Internment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
