Eva Pierson Rauser, 95, of Lake Charles passed away on July 19, 2012 in a local hospital. Born near Kinder, Louisiana on July 9, 1917, she was one of eleven children of Raymond Earl and Ida Rosella Pierson.
After graduating from Kinder High School, Eva moved to Lake Charles when she met and married Henry Rauser, with whom she had four children. She lived the rest of her life in Lake Charles, and was a member of Simpson Methodist Church and of University United Methodist Church.
Eva is survived by her three sons, Walter Rauser and wife Amelia of Rockville, Md., Kenneth Rauser and wife Debbie of Sulphur, La., and Phillip Rauser and wife Patricia of Lake Charles, by her daughter, Kathryn Rauser Veith and husband Stanley of Fort Bragg, Ca., and by a brother, The Reverend Raymond Pierson and wife Martha of Crossville, Tn., and a sister, Grace Francis of Springfield, Mo. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Christine Rauser Johnson, Eva Katherine Rauser Barnum, Henry Rauser, Nathan Rauser, Jesse Rauser, and Jordan Rauser, and by her two great grandchildren, Carolyn Johnson and Leigha Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband of 58 years, Henry, by five sisters, Pearl Dripps, Murriel McHenry, Bernice Guthrey, Ruby Neyland, and Wanda Pierson, by three brothers, Earl Pierson, Irving Pierson, and Gerald Pierson, and by a grandson, Arlen Vanek.
Her funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at University United Methodist Church. The Reverend Charles Langford will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6pm until 8pm and on Tuesday from 9am until 11am at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, and from 1pm until service time at the church.
