Ella Dugas Landry; 90 years old entered into Eternal Life on Dec. 30, 2011. Mrs. Landry passed away in a local nursing home. She was born in Holmwood, LA, lived an entire life in Lake Charles, LA except for a short period when she resided in Leesville, LA.
She leaves son, Crawford Landry Jr., and wife Barbara of Morgan City, LA; son, August Jean Landry and a daughter, Lenda Landry Faye both of Lake Charles, also daughter, Margie Landry Tarver and her husband Rick Tarver of Westlake, LA., many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Landry worked many years for TG&Y on Ryan Street, later working for Mayo Land & Title Company and finally moved on to Calcasieu Parish Probation & Parole Office.
She was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Cajun French Music Association, VFW Women's Auxiliary, and Treasurer of the SW Singles Club of Lake Charles.
Mrs. Landry was an avid cook, baker and seamstress. She loved her music, expecially French, and loved to dance. She spoke French fluently. "Care Giver" is one title that she earned while taking care of the sick. Mrs. Landry also earned her GED back in 1958.
Mrs. Landry is preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Cyril Dugas, husband Crawford Landry Sr., brother, Ozema "Chuck" Dugas, sister, Daisy Dugas Landry, and son, Floyd "Bugar" Landry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 3pm Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday, 5pm-8pm with a rosary at 6pm and resume Monday 8am until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
