Mr. Hodge was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He owned a deer farm and also worked construction in welding and trucking. Donald loved his family and traveling.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Teena Benoit; mother of his children, Evia Hodge; son, Donald Hodge Jr.; daughter, Rachel Hodge; sisters, Donna Sue Sorkow and Linda Spell; special great niece, Ashlyn Fuller, who helped him with the farm; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delos and Lavern Hodge and son, David Hodge.
His service will be 2pm, Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Glenn George will officiate. Visitation will begin Saturday, 5pm-9pm and resume Sunday 12pm until service time. Burial will be in New Ritchie Cemetery.
