Born on July 3, 1949, in Creole, Louisiana, Dewey was the beloved son of Dorothy and George Boudreaux.
After graduating from South Cameron High School in 1968, Dewey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he began his career with Crain Brothers before retiring from Mobil Oil. Even in retirement, Dewey continued his hard-working spirit, rejoining the workforce with Tri-Con Environmental and later M & C Oil Services.
A lifelong cattleman, Dewey had a passion for breeding and raising show pigs, a tradition he lovingly shared with his children and others in the community. His greatest joys came from helping and watching his grandchildren show pigs and cattle at the Cameron Parish District and Livestock Shows.
Dewey was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole and was active in his community through the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3014, Farm Bureau, Louisiana Pork Association, and Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Boudreaux; his sister, Tammy Ann Boudreaux; and his great-granddaughter, Everly Trosclair.
Dewey is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Boudreaux; his children, J.M. Boudreaux and wife Cristal, and Amanda Bertrand Trosclair; his mother-in-law, Ruth Bertrand Yockey; his sister, Gwen Hebert and her husband John; his cherished grandchildren, Savannah Boudreaux, Ty Trosclair and fiancée Monica, Luke Trosclair, Hunter Olmsted, and Halie Thomas and husband Chanler; and his great-granddaughters, Olivia and Everly Thomas.
