David joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and served in Vietnam. After ending his service in 1974, David moved to Lake Charles in 1988. He owned D & B Trucking for several years and instructed at CDL Mentors of Lake Charles Truck Driving School. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW.
David is welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Brother, Gary Foster; sisters, Valerie Barrick and Linda Grimm; as well as both maternal and paternal grandparents.
His memory will be fondly cherished by his loving wife of 30 years, Brenda Grimm; father, John Grimm(Linda); sons, David Grimm(Erika), Michael Grimm(Summer), Scott Matthews(Heather) and Frank Yvon; sister, Debra Foster(Randy); brother, Stan Foster; as well as 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 pm. Visitation will resume the following day Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Chenier Perdue Cemetery in Creole, Louisiana
