He was a native and life-long resident of Grand Chenier, an active member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. He was always praying the rosary and was a very prayerful man. Prior to his retirement he worked for Crain Bros. He enjoyed fishing, barbequing, gardening, professional wrestling, playing cards and going to the casino with family and friends. He also helped Mr. John at Hixson’s carrying flowers to the cemetery. He will be remembered in Grand Chenier as Uncle D. He was a loving, kind and helpful son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his brother, Lynn Vincent and wife Sharon of DeRidder; sister, Olga Mudd and husband, Robert of Grand Lake; numerous nieces and nephews and seventeen god children, special cousins, Lori and Laney Theriot and special friend, Craig Hendrix. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curley and Helen Vincent, sister, Melba Trahan, brother-in-law, A.D. Trahan, sister-in-laws, Martha Vincent and Sue Vincent and nephew, Allen Wayne Vincent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Eugene Catholic Church. Father Clyde Thomas and Father Vincent Vadakkedath will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00am until 10:00pm with a rosary at 6:30pm and resume Thursday at 8:00am until time of service at the church.
