Connie was born September 26, 1925, to Robert Bruce Robertson and the former Rita LeBlanc in Lake Charles, La. She was married to Ralph Irving, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2020. Connie and Ralph shared 48 years together. They met and were married in Leesville, La, and moved to Lake Charles in 1981.
Connie served as a legal secretary in Leesville, working with several law firms before being asked to serve as an administrative assistant for the Mayor of Leesville. Upon moving to Lake Charles, she worked with Crawford and Company until she retired.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Leach Jr. (Joy) of Houston, Texas, and John Leach (Sandra) of Melbourne, Florida; three stepsons, Ralph Irving of Midland, Texas, Dr. Edward Irving of Fort Worth, Texas, Ray Irving of Midland, Texas; and one stepdaughter, Cynthia "Su Su" Vancil of Burton, Texas.
The family will welcome friends at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, July 21, 2023, starting for visitation beginning at 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm. Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate services.
Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and family donate to their favorite charity.
