Carol Judith Manuel Trahan, went to join our Heavenly Father on the morning of February 5, 2022, at the age of 78, in her home. She was the widow of David Joseph Trahan, her husband and friend for 52 years of marriage.
Born in the city of Oberlin Louisiana, she was the daughter of Oreus and Una Klump Manuel. She attended and graduated from LaGrange High School. Carol was a full time Mom for many years before working at St. Margaret’s Catholic School in the cafeteria and later at area fabric stores.
She was an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, assisting in the church office and with summer camps for the parish children. She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes and gifts for those she loved. She crocheted beautiful blankets that will be cherished even more. She will be remembered for her strength and care for others, and devotion to her family.
She is survived by a son, Roddy Trahan, daughter, Laura Trahan Fontenot, grandchildren Madison Fontenot Guidry and husband Zach Guidry, Morgan Fontenot, and Garrett Doise; along with one great-grand daughter, Isla Rose Guidry. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Joseph Trahan, and her daughter Susan Trahan Doise.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 4:00 -8:00 with a Rosary at 6:00 at Hixson’s Funeral Home on Ryan St. Lake Charles, La. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hixon’s Chapel followed by burial at Prien Pines Cemetery.
