She was a Secretary for the Oldham County Board of Education. Martha was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. She loved to travel to her cabin on St. Joseph's Island in Canada and going to neighborhood yard sales. Martha loved her granddogs, Petey, Garnett, Bowie and Keightley. Martha was also an avid UK Basketball fan. She will be missed by friends of many generations.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years, David Monroe; daughter, Becky Hicks; parents, Delbert and Martha Ellis; and sister, Betty Lynn Warren.
Survivors include her son-in-law who she adored, Gene Hicks; and beloved grandchildren, Brad Hicks (Janette) and Sarah Beth Clausen Meade.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with visitation from 11 AM until service time on Thursday. Private burial in Valley of Rest Cemetery.
