He was born to the late James Sr. and Dorothy Melone Morgan on December 24, 1936 in Louisville, KY.
Jim worked as an electrician, owning and operating JM Electric. He loved playing golf and was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church. Jim's favorite place was any Florida Beach where he would enjoy eating oysters. Above all Jim loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings; Ed Morgan and Susie Morgan, mother-in-law; Edna Ashcraft, father-in-law; Harold Ashcraft Sr., brother-in-laws; Hank Kerr and Harold Ashcraft Jr., sister-in-law; Sue Colyer.
Left to cherish the memory of Jim are his wife of 29 years; Judy Mae Ashcraft Morgan, 9 children; Kim Perez (Boni), Natalie Morgan, Roy Ashcraft (Sandra), Terry Phillips Jr, Kevin Ray Phillips (Michelle), Marie Thompson (Kevin), Justin Morgan, James Morgan and Joseph Morgan, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, sister; Terry Jankowski (Rich), sister-in-laws; Hope Kerr and Betty Aaron, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, Lagrange, KY 40031 on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 2pm with visitation on Tuesday evening from 12-8pm and Wednesday from 9am until the start of the service at the funeral home.
