She was born to the late Leland Hershell and Garnet Stewart Flynn in Indiana on May 8, 1946 before moving to Somerset, Ky where she was raised on the family farm. It was there where she learned the value of a loving family and working hard.
After high school, Charlotte moved to Louisville KY where she earned her Cosmetology degree. It was in Louisville where a handsome young man (who didn’t know Charlotte had driven tractors from a young age) bet her she couldn’t drive a manual transmission…he became her husband of 58 years. With him, she created a family and enjoyed her cherished roles of Wife, Mother, and Mimi. Charlotte was devoted to her family, she was their biggest supporter, and said “Let’s Do It” far more often than “no”. When she wasn't styling hair or taking care of her husband and kids, She could be found on the lake, cheering her children and then grandchildren from the bleachers, and playing chauffeur for all of her grandkids. Her love was boundless as her nieces, nephews, and friends can tell you.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Flynn, Berniece Flynn-Gholson and Donna Brown. Left to cherish the memory of Charlotte are her husband of 58 years, Ronald "Ron" Addington; children, Paul Addington (Sarah) and Sheila Addington (John Huey); grandkids, Cordelia (Jordan), Chris (Amina), Abigail, Madilynn, Sophie, Gaby, Payton, and Henry; sister, Carolyn Hughes; extended family and many friends.
A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 starting at 2:00 pm with services following at 5:00 pm. Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the American Cancer Society in Charlotte's memory.
