Wilburn Mark Chaney

Mark was born on June 8, 1962 in Oahu, Hawaii, son of the late Wilburn Berry Chaney and Vilene L. Henson Chaney. He was a faithful member of Liberty Church for many years. Mark was very patriotic and proudly served his community in several capacities in the Troup County Sheriff’s Department from which he retired. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Donna K. Swanson Chaney; daughters, Amanda (Andy) Tumambing, Meagan (James) Gately, and Allie (Lucas) Kokmeyer; grandchildren, Gage Tumambing, Ansleigh Tumambing, Tyler Gately, Zoey Gately, Kaylin Gately, and Easton Kokmeyer; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00pm Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Chris Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
