“Mott” as she was affectionately known was born May 8, 1934, in LaGrange, GA to the late Luther “Bud” Howard and Ruby McPeters Phillips. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church on the Square, a volunteer for hospice and served on the board for the Georgia Sheriff’s Pineland / Camp Pioneer. She loved cooking and hosting family and friends at her home. Martha met and married the love of her life, Bobby A. Traylor. Together they owned and operated Traylor’s Pawn and Jewelry Shop for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Daniel; and siblings, Buck Phillips, Dot Phillips Sanders and Sandra Phillips Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband 54 years, Bobby A. Traylor; son, Raymond “Lee” Daniel and fiancée, Lois Hunt; daughter, Scarlett Holland and husband, Mike; son, Darrell Traylor and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Candice and David Everingham, Sheena and Matt Whitten, Chad and Leslie Traylor, Landon Traylor; great grandchildren, Jackson Everingham, Owen Everingham, Conner Everingham, Josie Whitten, Maggie Whitten, Gardner Whitten, Lola Whitten, Zane Traylor; and several other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will begin Monday, November 11, 2024, at 1:00pm until the 3:00pm Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a hospice facility of your choice in memory of Martha Traylor.
