George "Harrison" Satterfield

Harris was born May 10, 1934 in Perry, Ga to the late John Moses Satterfield and Eris Guinn Lee Satterfield.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jean Yates Satterfield; daughter Lisa Hunt (Mark) and grandson Marcus Hunt (Abby).

Harris loved his community and served in many ways including the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. He was an avid gardener and loved sharing his harvest with neighbors and friends. He was longtime member of the Lions Club and served as Club President and as District Governor. He and Betty have been members of First Baptist Church on the Square for 50 years. He loved his church dearly and served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for many years and Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandson and two close friends Patton Beall and Kevin Phillips and was looking forward to the arrival of his great grandson in July.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday April 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Ga. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, Ga.
