Benito Lomboy Obiano passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at Straub Medical Center at the age of 87. He was born on Oct. 23, 1937, in San Bonifacio, San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Adolfo Mejia Obiano and Marcela Lomboy Alamani Obiano.
He was preceded in death by his wife Timotea “Mina” Guillermo Obiano, sister Beatriz “Naty” Obiano Garcia, and half-siblings.
Benito is survived by his children Jesus “Jessie” (Juanita) Obiano, Josephine “Josie” (Benny) Baris, Eduardino “Eddie” (Lourdes) Obiano, grandchildren Brandon (Rizadel) Baris, Bradford (Hannah Im) Baris, Benedick Baris, Archer (Edna) Obiano, Aldrich Obiano, Andrew Obiano, Jonathan Obiano, great-grandchildren Zion Obiano, Xabiere Obiano, niece Shirley Wilkie, nephew Jeffrey Garcia, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service to honor his life and legacy will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa. Viewing from 9 to 10:25 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kealia Cemetery.
