Shirley Elaine Rogers

Shirley Elaine (Hurlburt) Rogers, age 84, of Converse, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Shirley was born April 28, 1937 to Lester Lewis Hurlburt and Vesta Fern (Sparks) in Cass County, Indiana.

In 1956 Shirley married John Mitchell Rogers in Kokomo, Indiana and he passed in 2014.

Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, lottery scratch-offs and going to garage sales.

Shirley has four surviving children: Monte Sue Kendall (Rus) of Converse, IN; Calvin Wayne Rogers (Kandee) of Greenville, MI; Teresa Thibeault (Jim) of Peru, IN; and John G. Rogers (Carolina) of Amboy, IN.

Shirley's thirteen grandchildren include Ryan Kendall (Andrea) of Greentown, IN; Patrick Kendall (Kaycee) of Swayzee, IN; Amanda Braye (Tim) of Marion, OH; Fawn Julsaint (Sadrack) of Chicago, IL; Wayne Rogers (Heather) of Greenville, MI; Forrest Rogers (Megan) of Greenville, MI; Travis Thibeault (Brittany) of Shirley, IN; Kayla Mutch of Peru, IN; Rachel Jordan (Jerry) of Marion, IN; Kristina Shallenbarger (Willis) of Kokomo, IN; John (Jr.) Rogers of Kokomo, IN; Nikki Walker (Charlie) of Kokomo, IN; and Buck Rogers of Peru, IN.

Twenty-seven great-grandchildren survive, along with two sisters, Linda Lindley (Jim) of Flora, IN; and Beverly Miller (Andy) of Bloomfield, IO. Shirley is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (John Rogers); sister (Louise LaRusso); brothers Robert Hurlburt and Floyd Hurlburt; an infant son; two infant great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.

The family will honor Shirley in a private family service at a later date.
