Virginia Helen Kent Angel passed away peacefully at her home on September 19 surrounded by the family she dearly loved. She was born on October 14, 1927. Virginia was a charter member of Cumberland Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She spent her life serving others and in her later years she was well known for the countless cakes she baked for those around her. She was preceded in death by parents, J.G. and Margaret Kent, sisters Reba Richards, Evelyn Moss, Dorothy Kent, brothers J.G. Kent, Jr. and Tommy Kent, son Glynn Angel, Jr. Survived by her husband of 65 years, Glynn Angel, Sr., daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Roger Davis, sons Richard and David Angel, granddaughter and pride and joy Sarah Davis, special sons John Atkins and Joel Diamond, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cumberland Baptist Church with funeral service to follow immediately. Interment at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, September 22 at 2 p.m. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice especially Krista Loy, Trish Buckner, and David Holt.
