Our only son, Truman Benjamin Melton, passed away August 6, 2021, one day before his 29th birthday. Truman left us as a luminescent shooting star brightening the skies before fading into the darkness of the night. He was brilliant and oh so talented in so many ways. The thing about Truman, he was humble and loved by so many lives that he touched by his brief time here on earth with all of us. As parents, we were so very blessed to have him as our only child watching him bloom into the person he became.
As a proud father, I could go on and on to express how gifted Truman was, from being a South Doyle High School Valedictorian to University of Tennessee Magna Cum Laude graduate in Mechanical Engineering, to his passion in music and songwriting. Suffice it to say, he was different.
He is so loved by his Mommie. Juvy, missing her baby pie.... to She-She and Gaya (Grandparents)…to Megan, sharing how wonderful of a boyfriend he was....to Tara, becoming her brother of sorts...to his father, heartbroken...to the innumerable others whose lives he touched.
From the darkness of mourning and missing him we have heard from so many of what a good person Truman was, especially from his extended work family at Ruth's Chris Steak House.
I can only say that Truman, we will see you some day when time comes calling.
Generation after generation we make memories which remain with us and allow each to remember the importance and continuation of family, friends and the regeneration which occurs as mother time passes. The son becoming the father becoming the.....Always remembering who we are...where we came from...how we have changed...and as time marches forward...onward to the next generation and so on...always remember your friends, family and journeys filled with memories. What we take with us, we can hopefully come to cherish as we each look both forward and at times backward.
Truman you are so very loved and will be missed but always remembered in our hearts.
