Sue Howard

Sue Ellen Howard, age 96, of Powell, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at home. . Sue was born August 9, 1926 to Lillian Long Lovell and Franklin Wayne Lovell. She was the youngest of three children. Sue graduated from Rule High School in 1944. She worked at several clothing stores and at what was then Tennessee Valley Bank. She married Kenneth Eugene Howard on April 9, 1955. After the birth of their only child, Alan, she became a homemaker. She returned to work later at Valley Fidelity Bank where she worked as a teller at the main office in downtown Knoxville. She was an extremely dedicated worker. She retired in 1989. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, where she worked in the church library. Earlier, at Broadway Baptist Church, she worked as a Sunday School teacher for young children. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Kenneth Howard who passed away in 2012; parents, Lillian and Franklin Lovell; brother, Franklin Wayne Lovell Jr.; and sister, Thelma Diggs. She is survived by her devoted son, Alan Brent Howard; nieces, Jane Wilson of Hixson, TN, Terrye Danner of Farragut, and Pam Lovell of Knoxville. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the chapel at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, a funeral service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Kent Williams. Interment will follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
