Sherry Ann Wheat, age 50, of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at UT Hospital due to Covid pneumonia. She was the precious daughter of Jack Lee (Jackie) and Mary Ann Wheat. She was born October 20, 1971 in Maryville, Tennessee. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Knoxville, TN.
Sherry had just turned 50 years old. Her Mom, Mary Ann had taken her and her four dogs to Minnesota for the month of October for her birthday. October 9, 2021, Sherry was able to go to her nephew's wedding (Tim and Vanessa Wheat) where she had a ball and danced her legs off. At a later date, she also had the opportunity to see her other nephew, Steven, his wife, Tricia, and Koston Wheat. Her birthday celebration was held at her favorite Uncle Jim Danner's home in Big Lake, MN. She had a video made with pictures and music on facebook to commemorate the occasion which showed how happy and proud she was of everyone who attended. Mom, Uncle Jim, Tammy, Patty, Bruce, Ronnie and Betsy. Sherry also walked the land one last time that her great grandparents and great uncles Albert and Axel had trod.
Sherry took after her mother, Mary Ann's love of music and singing. She sang and played the guitar with the Jammers in Minnesota for many years when she lived there. Also, like her Mom, Sherry liked to write. She wrote songs, poems, sayings, etc. Sherry loved her family, her kids which were her dogs- Tanner, Lady, DJ and Bella. She enjoyed traveling, spending time in Florida, was a UT Vols fan and had wanted to be well enough to hike the Appalachian Trail.
Preceded in death was her father, Jack L. Wheat; grandparents, Fred and Elsie Danner, Jesse and Eufoula Wheat; brother, Edward; sisters, Mary and Melody Wheat.
She will be greatly missed by her mother, Mary Ann Wheat; sister, Shellia (Steve) Byrd of Strawberry Plains, TN; brothers, James (Deb) Wheat of Ohio, Jeff (Alisia) Wheat Garcia of Maryland; David (Tammy) Wheat of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews, Jackie, Shelbie, Kristy, Tim, Steven, Misty, Leah, Michael, Josh, Lauren, Amber, Dollie, Eddie, April, Bo, Angie, Carol, Katie, and several great little ones.
