Robert Michael Asquith, age 78, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Central High School where he played football. He was a member of First Lutheran Church for many years before becoming a member of Lake Hills Presbyterian Church where he served several terms as an elder. Mike graduated from East Tennessee State University where he earned his BA and MA degrees. He also played football and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. His career as an educator spanned 40 years and began as a teacher at Karns High School before moving into several administrative roles including South Doyle High School and Gibbs High School where he ultimately retired. Mike enjoyed playing golf and was an avid UT sports fan.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Harry Walker Asquith, mother, Juanita McCartt Asquith, and sister, Patricia Asquith. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Debbie Arnhart Asquith, sons Chris Asquith (Katie) and Steven Asquith (Rachel), and step-son Andy Asbury (Gina); three sisters, Carol Roseberry, Suzy Woods, and Betty Jo Huffaker; grandchildren Abby Asbury (Doug), Andy Asbury, Jr., Lily Asquith, Jacob Asquith, Evan Asquith as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 4:00 on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Chuck Farmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in memoriam donations be made to Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, 3805 Maloney Road, Knoxville, TN 37920.
