Peggy Mehlhorn, of Knoxville, age 98, died on May 19th, 2021. Peggy had a strong faith in God, was raised in the Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, TN and was a member of Arlington Church of Christ, Knoxville, from 2005 until present. Previously a member of First Lutheran Church, Knoxville, for 60 years. Peggy enjoyed serving others and working on various church committees. She taught at First Lutheran School, Maynard, Brownlow, Lincoln Park and Lonsdale Elementary Schools. Discipleship was her main goal in life and she witnessed to others up to a week before her death. Peggy loved to travel and has now travelled to her greatest destination in Heaven.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Louis William Mehlhorn; son, Louis William (Bill) Mehlhorn II, and four siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Ritter (Tony), Shirley Irwin Wolfram (Tim); three grandsons, Robert Nichols, Richard Nichols and John Irwin; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:30 am with a service to follow at 11 am, officiated by Pastor Mark Brackney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington Church of Christ.
