Milas Marion Smith

Smith, Milas Marion - age 85, of South Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2013, after dealing with lung cancer. He was born in Claiborne County on August 31, 1928. He was a member of Fort Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran who served in Germany during the early 1950's. He owned Smith Welding and Iron Works, and his work is found all over Knoxville. Preceeded in death by his first wife, Betty Joyce Smith, and his second wife Mary Gossett Smith, and brothers Overton, Rudolph, and Howard. Survived by son Woodson Smith, daughter-in-law Robin Smith, and grandsons Colin Lee and Trevor Overton Smith, sister-in-law Barbara Summers and brother-in-law Howard Summers, nephew and nieces in Knoxville and Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Family thanks the staff of NHC Ft. Sanders for their care of Milas during his illness. Visitation Monday, October 28, 5:00-7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Family and friends will meet Tuesday, October 29, at 2:00 PM, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev.
