Mike had an immense love for enjoying life and loving his family and friends. He was always up for any adventure. He could be described as an athlete, a Marine, a brother in Christ, a protector, a loyal friend, a jokester, animal lover, project starter, musician, and in his own words, "a pretty handy guy to have around". Mike loved fishing, cooking, travelling, playing music, fixing things, and watching sports, especially his Denver Broncos. He never met a stranger and somehow, even if they disagreed, they would end up friends. Mike was very proud of his glory days of playing football for Canon City High School as well as his service in the United States Marine Corps. Once a Marine, always a Marine!
He would want to be remembered for the lasting friendships he made and his spirituality rather than the cancer that dominated the last couple years of his life. He was so much more than this disease. He will be greatly missed by so many, but if you would like to honor his memory, please live like Mike...with no boundaries.
