Melvyn Kaleimomi Aila, Sr. went to be with the Angels on April 21, 2016. He was a Roosevelt graduate and had retired from Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. He was currently living in Knoxville, Tennessee and was a member of Honolulu Shriners, Honolulu Masons, Honolulu Scottish Rites, as well as the Hawaiian Musicians Association and the Royal Order of Kamehameha. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Aila; son and daughter-in-law, Melvyn Kaleimomi Aila, Jr. and April Aila; daughter, Melanie (Pua) Aila; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mahalo Aila and William Aila; sisters, Nona Kahui, Grable Aila, and Mamo Aila; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. There will be a graveside service at 11:30am on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
