Maxine Nash Jones – age 91, of Knoxville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday evening, September 4th, 2015. She was born on October 17th, 1923 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Maxine graduated from Knoxville High School. She and her husband of 70 years, Newton Jones, started their own real estate and insurance agency, Newton Jones Agency, Inc., in 1966. She was a faithful member of South Knoxville Baptist Church for over 80 years where she was a children’s Sunday School teacher and also sang in the choir. Maxine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi), sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Newton Jones; parents, Leslie Daniel Nash and Mayme Knight Nash; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Nash Howard (William “Bill” Howard). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Jones Asbury (Stewart Asbury), daughter Leslie Jones Huff all of Knoxville; grandchildren James Henry Asbury and Rachael Lindsay Willis (Ryan Willis); brother and sister-in-law, William “Bill” Leslie Nash, Sr. (Helen Nash); several special nieces and nephews; special cousins, Shirley and Mitzi Stephens. Family and friends will meet at 10:30am at Woodlawn Cemetery for receiving of friends and a graveside service following at 11:00 on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 with Pastor Stephen Earle and Dr. Glenn Sullivan officiating.
