Mary L. Cochran Witt

Mary Louise Cochran Witt, 93, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31st, 2023. She was born February 1st, 1930 in Knoxville, TN to parents Ella and Charles Raymond Curtis. She was a member of West Towne Christian Church. Mary worked at AAA for several years. She helped the children at the Easter Seals Bowling team. Her hobbies were gardening, working with the Cub Scouts, and bowling. Mary was a big fan of the UT Lady Vols basketball team.

Mary is predeceased by her mother, Ella Curtis; father, Charles Raymond Curtis; husband of 29 years, R.L. Cochran; second husband, James Witt; brothers, James Curtis, Bill Curtis, Raymond Curtis; and sisters, Catherine Ellison, Helen Romines, and Anna Ruth Leach.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Laurella Cochran Rochat; son, William Ray Cochran (Robynn), son, Charles Duane Cochran (Jane); grandchildren, Eric Cochran (Ashley), Taylor Cochran (Casey), Joshua Rochat (Cynthia) and Jeremy Rochat, and Ryan Cochran; great-grandchildren, Lyra and Vega Rochat, Ryker and Rhys Cochran, Charlotte and Katherine Cochran; and sister, Ethel Collins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 pm Wednesday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. The graveside service at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
