Mary Frances Davies Johnson, age 86, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 28, 2021 at home following a long illness. Mary was born July 23, 1935.
Preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Lloyd Davies; husband of 46 years, Richard Johnson and sister, Nancy Jarnigan. Survived by daughter, Frances Lee; step-daughter, Vicki Johnson; sister, Barbara Reynolds; nieces, Cheryl Slayden, Eleanor Bodden, Teri Jarnigan, Wilma Davis, nephew, Hutch Jarnigan, and many grand nieces and nephews.
Mary was a faithful member of Kirkwood/KirkHills Presbyterian until its closing and attendee of Second Presbyterian Church, Knoxville TN. She was also a member of Temple Baruch HaShem, Messianic Congregation in Ca. 1997-2006.
Mary was a woman of great faith who loved her Lord. She was devoted to her family and loved them very much. Mary had a daycare for 17 years and always enjoyed taking care of the babies and children. The best mom ever who loved and helped care for her physically disabled daughter. Spending 30 yrs in Southern CA to give her daughter a better life, they then moved back to Knoxville TN in 2006 to once again be home and with family.
The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff of Encompass Home Health and Avalon Hospice who cared and helped her so much in her last years and weeks.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM. Pastor Tim Reynolds of Second Presbyterian to officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to KARM or Second Presbyterian Church, 2829 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
