Mary Ellen Hurst, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022 surrounded by family. She was greeted in heaven by her daughter Lisa Ann Hurst, husband, Randy Hurst, parents, Howard and Aileen Russell, brother, Wayne Russell and sister Edna Fowler.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Terry Crawford; devoted grandson, Chris Hurst and a host of other family and friends.
Mary was an active member of South Knoxville Church of God until her health declined. She was active in the prayer cloth and card ministries. She also loved helping with the childrens church as well.
Mary would light up any room she entered. She was a true prayer warrior. She was praising the Lord until her last breath.
Receiving of friends will be Monday, February 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Tommy Bellamy officiating. Family and friends will gather at Berry Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:15 AM to proceed to Knob Creek Cemetery, 959 N Knob Creek Rd, Seymour, for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
