Mrs. Martha C. Mynatt Myers

Myers, Martha M., age 90, resident of Parkview West Senior Living and a long time Knoxville resident, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010. She was a lifetime member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church where she also worked as a Daycare Director. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School, Class of 1938, and married her high school sweetheart, John Emory Myers, that same year. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. As a young widow, Martha tirelessly gave of herself to be a part of her childrens’ development. She continued to inspire both family and friends with her passion for life and her ability to maintain a positive attitude. Preceded in death by husband, John Emory Myers; parents, Allen G. Mynatt and Beulah Stewart Mynatt; son, Richard Emory Myers; sister, Betty Bull.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Janice Myers, John and Marla Myers; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Fred Harrel; daughter-in-law, Wilma Myers; grandchildren, Rick Myers, Michele Burch and husband, Michael, Kevin Myers, Meredith Myers, Joseph Myers; great grandchildren, Sinjin Myers, Emma Burch, Alex Burch; brother, Allen Mynatt, Jr.; sister-in-law, Lula Mae Winegar; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Tuesday with the funeral service to follow in the chapel at 7 pm with Rev. James E. Robertson officiating. The family will meet on the lot at 9:45 am Wednesday for the interment service at 10 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
