Louise J. Swafford, age 93 of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville. Louise graduated from Kentucky School for the Deaf in 1949. At KSD, she excelled in basketball and softball, lettering in both. She enjoyed sewing, telling old time stories and jokes, and being a big time fan of University of Kentucky basketball. She also regularly attended Tennessee School for the Deaf football and basketball games with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan J. Swafford; parents, Tip Smith and Nannie Owings; brothers Dennis, Aubrey, and Stark Smith; sisters, Bernice Moore, Lois Knuckles, and Curtiss Vickers; and son-in-law, Johnny Fuller. She is survived by her son, Barry and wife Michel Swafford; daughter Jayne Fuller; son, Sandy and wife Cynthia Swafford; grandchildren: Jesse Fuller, Jelica Duggan, and Ethan Swafford; and five great-grandchildren. Per Louise's wishes, there will be no services.
