Juan was born on 07/07/1954 in Paracho, Michoacan, MEXICO, a small town known as the Capital of the Guitar. As a child, he was only able to complete 6th grade in Elementary School and had no choice but to work and help provide for his brothers and sisters.
At age 17 he met Josefina Severiano (who was 16 at the time) and they began dating for 3 years. Shortly after, they married and had 2 children in Paracho, Michoacan: Jesus and Alma.
As usual, the need to provide a better quality of life for his family led him to immigrate to the United States of America. In 1977, he made it Los Angeles, California and of course shortly after 3 more children were born: Juan, Rosario and 10 years later Antonio. Los Angeles, CA is where he was first exposed to working in the food industry and gained all the experience of working behind doors in preparing and front of the house customer service. He established himself for 16 years in California and worked only in the restaurant business.
In 1993, he ventured and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee with his older son to also work in the food industry. He immediately fell in love with the mountains, the weather and all the natural beauty that Knoxville offers. He loved it so much that six months later the remainder of his family relocated to Knoxville, TN. For many years he worked as an employee in restaurants but one day his wife convinced him to open their own establishment and they did. Chepa’s Restaurant was born and while working his business for a little over 24 years, many friendships were developed, many grandchildren were born and many unforgettable memories were created. He worked until his health allowed him.
He was preceded in death by Eliana Severiano.
Juan is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Josefina Severiano; son, Jesus Severiano; daughter, Alma D. Severiano; son, Juan M. Severiano; daughter, Rosario Severiano; son, Antonio Severiano; 16 Grandchildren: Austin Severiano, Anthony Severiano, Kassandra Severiano, Elisa Severiano, Crystal Severiano, Marcus Severiano, Landon Bell, Jon Evans, Sonya Severiano, Jayce Middleton, Jesus Severiano, Josie Severiano, Benjamin Severiano, Jaxon Middleton, Elena Severiano, Emila Severiano; great-grandchild that is due in October 2024; parents; Salud Villafan Magana and Daniel Severiano; siblings and spouses: Antonio Severiano, Rosa Severiano, Guadalupe Severiano, Ma.
