John F Irwin Jr.

John F. Irwin, Jr, age 71, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2015. Mr. Irwin served his country in the United States Navy, and retired from Overnight Transportation after 30 plus years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Irwin; parents, John F. Irwin, Sr. and Teresa Clancy Irwin; and family friend, Douglas Pierce.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Ellen Irwin Estridge and husband,Terry; son, John F. Irwin, III and his wife, Dawn; granddaughter, Kaylee Marie Estridge; siblings: Mary Ellen Scrudder (Paul), Teresa Bailey (Mike), Anthony Irwin (Carol); brother-in-law, Joe Nutter (Virginia) and sister-in-laws, Dorthy Pruitt and Janice Lunsford, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 13th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service following with Deacon Ken Long, officiating. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Alcoa, with Father Bill McKenzie, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ladies of Charity, 120 Baxter Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917.
