John Dean Griffiths Sr.

John Dean Griffiths Sr., age 76, of Knoxville, TN; formerly of Mooresburg, TN and Monroe MI, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. John lived a very accomplished life and had many interests. He enjoyed hiking, snow and water sports, bicycle racing, swimming, and he completed multiple marathons and 5Ks. He loved to stay busy and had several hobbies such as reading, stamp and coin collecting, riding his Harley and traveling. John loved the beach and his farm animals. Most of all he was a great provider to his family, loved Jesus and the Bible.

John had an incredibly strong work ethic. He grew up on the lake in Michigan where he worked with his Pip and uncles commercial fishing. As an adult he began a career in auto manufacturing where he was able to travel to Japan, Germany, Mexico and many states in the USA. After a long and successful career, he retired as Senior Manufacturing Engineer for General Motors.

John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years Donna Kay Griffiths; parents Ralph Davis and Juanita Delores (Lajiness)Griffiths; sisters Joan and Judy Griffiths; granddaughters Jessica and Samantha Griffiths. He is survived by his children John Dean Griffiths Jr., Deanna Kay Griffiths, Danielle Marie (Ty) Nance; grandchildren Stephanie M. Griffiths, Bradley A. (Tia) Griffiths, Benjamin J. Seiser and Sadie Kay Seiser; and great grandchildren Montgomery, Cali Kay, Tilly Mae, Declan, Scarlett, Evelyn Rose, and John.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 3pm with a Memorial Service following at 4pm in the Magnolia Chapel at Berry Highland South Funeral Home 9010 E. Simpson Rd., Knoxville, TN 37920. Condolences can be made at www.berryhighlandsouth.com
