Jimmy became a member of the Open Arms Care family in May of 1990, where he lived in Knoxville. Once he had captured all the hearts of those within his care in Knoxville, Jimmy chose to move to the Greeneville family in August 2019, where it did not take him long to capture hearts there as well.
Jimmy was well known for his handsome smile, fun antics, being a silent observer, and the glue that held everyone together at Chuckey Pike. It only took a person a very short time to be around Jimmy to know one wanted to spend more time in his presence. Jimmy was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, he was a fighter and this did not alter him in the least. He remained the solid foundation for all those that loved him, and he was determined to live his best life.
Jimmy loved his community. He enjoyed attending baseball games, outdoor picnics, assisting with gardening around his home, and the occasional horseplay with his buddies. He was an avid hat collector and was able to make any hat look good.
Jimmy is preceeded in death by his mother, Fairy Dunn.
Those left to cherish the memory of Jimmy are his sister Judy, his special friend David S, and his Open Arms Care extended family.
There will not be an official visitation, but a graveside service will be held in the cemetary at Chuckey United Methodist Church in Chuckey, TN at a later date.
A special thank you to the Open Arms Care family in Knoxville and Greeneville that treated Jimmy as family and loved him wholeheardedly.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith
