James Harold Knight, age 84, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War. James was an avid woodworker and specialized in the art of Intarsia being tutored by Hall of Fame Professional Judy Gail Roberts of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Albert and wife Texie Willie Knight; three siblings: Don Knight, Glen Knight, and Mary Ruth Knight Ward. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Betty Jo (Noe) Knight; daughters Patricia Lynn Burkholder and husband Lynn; Janice Kay Costa and husband, Richard; step-daughter, Beverly Sue Cox and husband, Clayton; grandchildren: Jason, Shana, Melissa, Nichole, Robbie, Jennifer, and Gregory; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1620 W. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Luke Wilkerson officiating. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 9:30 AM for the interment. Pallbearers will be Alger King, Gene Hensley, Tommy Burnett, Wade Shinlever, Larry King, and Guy Sexton. Full military honors will be presented by Volunteer State Honor Guard.
