Helen Lee Jinks, age 80, of Seymour, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on October 29. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Seymour and loved her Lord and Savior dearly. After graduating from Washington College Academy and ETSU, she started her career as a counselor for The Department of Human Services in Maryville, from which she retired after 25 years. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years Herman “Bill” Jinks, infant daughter Margarette Jinks, granddaughter Kristin Pickens and sisters Barbara Carpenter and Evelyn Hundly. Helen is survived by daughters Missy Hembree and Kimberly Shaffer, grandchildren Amber Cameron and husband Mike, Amie Shaffer and William Shaffer, and great grandsons Austin Pickens and Jorge “Bubby” Pickens. The family would like to give special recognition to nieces and nephews from Florida, Toni and Arnold Money, daughter Sherry Cadenhead and family, son Scott Money and family as well as niece Delores Money and family. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Hwy with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Saturday November 4 at 12:00 noon to proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m., graveside service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to C.R.O.S.S. Ministries of Seymour or the Cancer Research Society.
