Waller, Jr., George Monroe – of South Knoxville, born on March 24, 1922, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was the owner of Irick Litho Service for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. George was a deacon and faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for 50 years, where he was also a member of the King’s Men’s Sunday School Class, the Keenagers, and the SONshine Ministry. His life of faith reflected his deep love and devotion to the Lord Jesus, his family and his friends. Preceded in death by parents, George M. Waller, Sr. and Martha Chockley Waller; and wife, Joyce Sue Irick Waller. He is survived by his children, George M. Waller, III and wife, Judy, and Karen Waller Mathews and husband, Neil; grandchildren, Ryan Waller, Heather Dyke, Stephanie and Doug Powers; great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Rebecca Dyke; as well as his close companion of 12 years, Sarah Mapes. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Mount Olive Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 6:30 PM with Dr. Deron Cobb officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Mount Olive Baptist Church and will proceed in procession to Mount Olive Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment service. Military honors by the US Army National Guard.
