Eric Alexander Ward, age 58, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was a long time member of Smithwood Baptist Church. Eric was a 1982 graduate of Central High School and a 1987 Graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was awarded several domestic and international patents for products he designed over the course of his 35 year career. Eric was currently a design engineer for Radio Systems (PetSafe) and formerly employed with DeRoyal, MECO Corporation, Engineered Fabrics, Square D, and Shaw Industries.
Eric was an easy going man who never met a stranger, was always ready with a smile or to lend a helping hand. He was a kind, compassionate, friendly, loving, positive, outgoing, pleasant, upbeat good-hearted person. Eric touched many lives, always encouraged others, and loved to make people laugh with his good sense of humor. Eric was an inventor, photographer, devoted husband and attentive father. His children were his greatest joy and he was their biggest cheerleader being ever present in their daily lives. He was well loved and respected and will be greatly missed.
Eric was preceded in death by parents, David Erskine and Mary Ann McMahan Ward. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela Michele Clark-Ward; children, Madisyn of Manchester, TN, Andrew, Michael, and Elizabeth of Knoxville, TN; siblings, David (Michel) Ward, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Connie (Dean) Rose of Lawton, OK, Rebecca (Andrew) Bucher of Woodbury, TN; best friend, Kevin Shetterly; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Thursday, June 16th from 4-8pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Funeral Service will take place Friday, June 17th at 11am at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with committal service immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike. Rev. Pam Neal to officiate. Pallbearers to include; Kevin Shetterly, Chris Gosnell, Alan Froula, Kenneth McMahan, Robert McMahan, and Marc Brush.
