Edith McMurry

McMurry, Edith Mae Hensley-93 went home to be with her Lord and Savior, October 16, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Samuel A. McMurry; sons, Fred, Ralph, (Butch), Donnie (Bones), Gary and Michael; parents, John and Allie Hensley; sisters, Bertha Wills and Frances Hensley; brothers, James, JC, Everett Lee, Hubert, Jerry and William Hensley; grandson, Donnie McMurry. Survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Alvin (Bub) and Linda McMurry of Powell, Terry (Termite) and Donna McMurry of Powel; sons, Dale McMurry of Powell and Howard McMurry of Dayton, Tennessee; daughters and son-in-laws, Dot (Pauline) and Ranesom Cates of Knoxville, Judy and Jack Longmire of Sevierville, Brenda and Hugh Thurman of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Wanda McMurry of Corryton; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Sister, Patricia Colton of California; brother and sister-in-law, Arlie and Dee Hensley of Seymour; sisters-in-law, Ietta and Mildred Hensley of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews; her church family and many friends. She was a member of Dante Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA’s for the special care they gave our precious mother. Receiving of friends will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in the chapel at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway from 6:00-8:00 pm with the service to follow at 8:00 pm. Rev. Phillip Murphy officiating.
