Doug Clark, age 59, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at UT Medical Center. Doug was born in Florida and lived in many different places before settling in South Knoxville. He began his career as a paramedic and met his wife, Rhonda, while employed with Knox County Ambulance Service. Doug later flew on LifeStar as a paramedic for six years. Wanting to further his career, he completed nursing school and served as a nurse in Critical Care, as a manager and as a Health Service Line Leader at St. Mary's Hospital. Doug loved playing tennis, coaching his son's soccer and basketball teams, fishing and going to the mountains but most especially loved spending time with his family. He was a great husband, father, son and brother and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Corky Clark. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rhonda; son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Kelly; stepson, Joshua Sheffield; stepdaughter and spouse, Hilari Sheffield and Josh Plemmons; mother, Greta Clark; sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Milan Savic; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Andria Clark and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Chaplain Steve Hill will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends after the service until 4:00 PM.
