David Homer Ray Holmes

Holmes, David Ray – age 63 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2014. David is preceded in death by infant son, David Jonathan; mother, Sadie “Nina” Holmes; sister, Betty Jo Hancock; brother, James Holmes; best pal and father figure, Odie “Clay” Russell. He is survived by wife of 39 years, Janice Montgomery Holmes; daughters, Kimberly (James) Trame, Kristi (Michael) Cook; grandchildren, Kassandra Trame, Zachary Trame, Shawn Holmes, Wesley Cook, all of Knoxville; sister, Sandra Purdue; special nephews, Tony Mills, of Knoxville, John Grasty, of Alabama; niece, Kristen Cox, of Wartburg, and a host of other relatives. The family would like to thank those who have shown their love and support through prayer, visits, flowers, and food. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 24, 2014, in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Carl McGill will be officiating.
