

He was born in Marion, VA. Dave received his degree in Business Administration from East Tennessee State University. While attending college, he was in the R.O.T.C. and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He later served in the United States Army Reserve.
He retired from International Business Machines (IBM) after 31 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed working in the Pro-Shop at the Dead Horse Lake Golf Course in Knoxville. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dave enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, UT football, and Lady Vols basketball with Michelle.
Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Haulsee; daughter, Nicole Lynn Waters; granddaughter, Michelle Yvonne Waters of Knoxville; two sisters, Sue Monroe, of Knoxville and Cissy Taylor and husband, Crockett, of Kingsport; two brothers, Donald “Pete” Haulsee and wife, Phyllis, of Johnson City, and Richard “Mike” Haulsee of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Margaret Haulsee, and his son-in-law, Jeff Waters.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018, in the Westwood Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John M. Stuart officiating. Family and friends will proceed to the cemetery for the graveside services.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
