Charles Ross Ketron, age 83, born October 9, 1939 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. Growing up in Athens, TN, Charlie graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College. He was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. His radio career began at an early age in Athens, TN and he was involved in broadcasting in Knoxville hosting radio shows, Hold That Line and 50-Yardline on WETE radio station during the late 60's and 70's. Charlie enjoyed being on the farm, at the lake and making molasses with his Tarwater family.
Preceded in death by parents, Hebron and Ruby Ketron; son, Charles Ketron II; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charlotte and Fred Kaeserman.
Survived by wife of 60 years, Wanda Ketron; daughter Ronda Parton (Jeff); grandson, Ross Ketron (Abby); sister-in-law, Linda Blurton (Leroy); niece, Sonya Moody (Chris); great -nephews, Tyler, Jordan and Wilson Moody; and several cousins including his special sister cousins, Elaine Parkin (Rob) and Linda Malmquist. The family would like to thank the staff of Sacred Ground Hospice house for their care and support during his final days.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville. Family and friends will meet Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Pigeon Forge Cemetery, Ogle Dr. Pigeon Forge, TN 37863 for an 11:00am Graveside Service officiated by Rev. Rhonda Hobbs.
